(Or try to. I'm way behind. I ought to come up with a catch-up schedule for those things I want to read and watch but haven't gotten around to yet. Pop culture needs to stop popping until I'm done!)

1. Emotional drama ugh.

2. Seriously I just want to see people throwing other people across rooms and things exploding.

3. I didn't sign up for characters having feelings.

4. Their house is enormous, and those two still had to share a bedroom?

5. A flashback! Is this going to be the entire episode?

6. Honestly, why are you trying to beat your sister to the bathroom? You know she'll win. Besides, a house that big really has a second bathroom stashed somewhere, I should think.

7. Nemeses, Kara.

8. Their school is remarkably uncrowded compared to my memories of high school.

9. Seriously, that bedroom is huge. You could raise ten kids in there. Their house has got to have a second bathroom.

10. That's unfortunate :(

11. This is how the two of them bonded and started working together? Because a mutual friend died? That's awful.

12. Ew, I could've gone the entire series without seeing teachers in relationships with underage students. So over that plot.

13. Honey, if you're 17 then it could wait another 12 months. If he loved you, he'd wait.

14. Is it just me, or is that school bathroom also unusually large in scale?

15. FBI-lady is right. Your parents wouldn't want you to save the world at 15. FFS, Kara, there is a reason all the adults who know your secret say the same thing, whether or not they ever met your parents.

16. Probably should've expected that reveal.

17. I have seen entire houses smaller than that bedroom.

18. Oh, he wasn't the killer. Yawn.

19. NYC schools don't go in much for football. This entire scene is as foreign to me as it would be to a Brit. Is this really what schools in other parts of the country do?

20. Why are they on a first-name basis with all the cops?

21. Alex needs to watch more TV, because you never drop a bomb like that without immediately following up with "Yeah, and we forwarded it to, like, a million techies to see who can crack it - friends of Kenny's and some relatives, that sort of thing. Whoever tried to off us was wasting his time, because this time next week it'll be all over the internet anyway."

22. Well, this has all turned sadly predictable.

23. Classic Kara. There must've been a dozen ways in that were plenty fast enough and that didn't cause massive - and, I'll say, inexplicable! - amounts of property damage. Does she even know for sure that this wasn't a supporting wall? I guess she'll know once she bashes a hole in it!

24. Seriously, look at that slow pan across the vast empty space that is their shared bedroom. Egads.

25. I guess that emotional payoff was worth it. Question: Weren't they staying three days? Also: Is he ever going to fess up to being that FBI agent who deliberately looked like her mom, or is that secret going to the grave?

************

1. No, Winn's right. Your dad needs to go outside. (And also maaaaaybe speak to somebody? The DEO has got to have shinks on staff ffs. And I have a whole list of people who ought to be seeing one.)

2. (I always sound so rah-rah about therapy when watching these shows. This is not because I think all therapists are miracle workers who can cure all ills, but I do kinda think that a large number of these characters would benefit from at least considering it, and none of them ever seem to. I guess going to therapy would detract from the world-weary warriors with the weight of the world on their shoulders, forced to suffer in silence for the greater good - but man, I'm so bored with that story.)

3. I'm glad somebody cares about not destroying public property.

4. "Oh god that was horrible! No, that was amazing! Can we do that all the time?"

5. She just had all this emotional growth only for Mon-El to show up right away? Sheesh.

6. Sooooooo evasive! Wow.

7. Also: Coming back here was super irresponsible. Wasn't he going to reform Daxamite society or something?

8. I wonder whose job it was to make this window artfully dirty.

9. Ruby is such an English name right now, along with Alfie. I'm continually surprised to see an American character of that age with that name. Not that it wasn't on the SSA list in 200?, it's just... way more popular in the UK.

10. If she has the answers at her fingertips, why didn't she give them straight out?

11. Dad, if you're going to talk about things being popular "on Earth" then you should know you'd actually fit in better if you weren't speaking English.

12. I've rewatched this part three or four times trying to get a better glimpse of that playground behind them. Priorities!

13. Tension!

14. You know, Kara, he did try to talk to you before. Though that doesn't excuse the silent treatment now....

15. It'd help if you explained yourself before asking favors, sweetie.

16. Literally everybody knew this already, Mon-El, but I guess the DEO isn't as smart as the entire home audience.

17. That looks like the nuclear waste monuments I've seen designs for. All spiky and thorny and go away. Some people just don't want company!

18. Kara, please tell me you won't hold a grudge against him for moving on.

19. Yup, secret identities mean nothing in the future!

20. With Mon-El out of the picture, I guess we've got room for Kara/Lena! Unless Kara wants to try out that polyamory business.

21. I can't help but think that if Kryptonians had pooled their resources they could've had a much better organized system for the care of their sudden orphans. All ten bajillion of them who are forced to individually confront their pasts in this haphazard way.

22. Well, that's upsetting. Just smash the machinery already.

23. Also, seriously, end of the world and this is your priority? Sheesh. What a waste of manpower.

Skipping the tedious crossover!

************

1. Kinda thought that was Rain, but apparently it's Reign.

2. It's amazing how little language has changed in 1,000 years. I wonder what Chaucer would have to say about that....

3. Your ex's wife is your fangirl? That's gotta be tough, emotionally.

4. Ah, I can tell from the sounds that this was aired in Christmas!

5. It's amazing how much pop culture he's imbibed while being admittedly married to his work. But then I guess the DEO gig didn't start until relatively recently in his 300 year life on earth.

6. What's a sequel? Is this an English word he doesn't know, or is he actually stating that Martian fiction doesn't come in three parters?

7. You guys don't have enough cats to be crone buddies.

8. Creepy image is creepy.

9. Old Krypton had only one set of ruins? Wow.

10. "The Ruling Council destroyed much of Krypton's so-called superstitions." I'm liking Krypton better and better with every half-hearted revelation....

11. Barking up the wrong tree, guys.

12. This episode and possibly the whole season would be more fun if they'd accepted those presents and then sang carols together.

13. O tempora, o mores!

14. Cultists gonna cult, I guess. Can you be helpful without the creepy? For a change?

15. It is troubling how superficially similar this is to Revelations. Kinda like somebody just cribbed off of it without bothering to understand the boring political context.

16. I want to give Ruby a big hug too. She doesn't deserve this.

17. Lousy petty criminals are boring.

18. "He shouldn't be alive." And you shouldn't be saying cryptically troubling sentences, but here we are.

19. So, is she just gonna buy a new shirt? Or does she particularly like the idea of spending her nights sewing her buttons back on? Maybe she and Kara and Clark can negotiate a group rate at a tailor shop once this is all done.

20. Mon-El, you've had time to get used to this. Give Kara some space.

21. Lots of people must want to kill Edge. Who cares?

22. Kara, what have we said about property damage!?

23. Yeah, words like "Worldkiller" are damn scary.

24. How many parties are they gonna crash, and is anybody going to get a candy cane?

25. Ouch.

26. OUCH!

27. I assume she doesn't die. This season just seems to go on and on.

A shocking destruction of property does happen. I am finding the Mon-El angle very tedious
