I am wrestling with the same question.
My birthday is in 11 days.
But I assure you that I won't be eating any of the things that others have suggested for you.

I chose Vietnamese food because iced coffee. Mmmmmm. But, y'know, have what you like. :)

I like all those things, hence the problem!

But right now it's looking like it'll boil down to "what my mother can easily get to", which means the fried pickles at Hop Shoppe.

We were in Denver getting me worked over for my immune disorder and had a 3 hour window between my morning and afternoon session on the first day. Started the Yelp app, and found an Ethiopian restaurant with almost 500 reviews and 4.5 stars.

It was very good.

I didn't pick, because it was restaurants. In my world celebration means eating home made food at home. Restaurants are only for emergency situations when travelling for so long that one runs out of the food one brought along from home. However, it is your birthday, so you get to pick what you like.

We are so different! I enjoy cooking, but I am not celebrating by cooking my own dinner, lol!
