An excellent question, to be sure, but I can top it - why did I go to the store today only to be confronted with Hanukkah stockings?

Also, this is the time of year for pet stores to start selling Hanukkah-themed dog toys... at least half of which look vaguely anti-Semitic. I mean, is it really Jews who buy their dogs blue yarmulke-wearing stuffed animals to chew on?

Oh, wow, that's a fascinating article! I didn't know about the coin-spinning unfairness/bias, and the implications for dreidls.

Hanukkah stockings are a new one for me too. (Are they meant to be refilled each of the 8 days? So many possibilities!)

I propose replacing dreidls with D4s, which have the bonus of being really painful to step on at night, kinda like caltrops.
