Including a bike.

Buuuuut my sister emailed me a whole bunch more omgwtf. (No bikes though.)

On another note: I often say it's hard for me to "do" video or audio files because I can't understand them. This is true, and why I generally prefer to either watch TV with the captioning on, or pause an awful lot, or both. Except sometimes it's not even a little true, and I've yet to figure out what the pattern is, which is frustrating. (Well, I've figured out one part of it, which is audio quality and/or background noise, but that's only to be expected.) This discrepancy is starting to annoy me, and I'm just complaining to complain.

Relatedly, I find that it's often very hard for me to learn things using videos. There's something here about watching vs. taking in vs. processing the information in certain ways that then translate to being able to do something with it...

Perfectly all right to complain! Pat can't hear worth a damn, so we watch tv and movies with the closed captioning for that reason. I totally get it.

My kid does fine with some audio stuff (certain podcasts), but lower-quality sound drives them up a sensory-issue wall. Audio quality is big.

Maybe sound quality isnt good on things recorded on a cell phone but is if the person uses better equipment? I know my sound quality on buggy's boxes isn't the best because i'm just using a phone to record.

No idea if this is the case for you or not, but wanted to share MY take on audio/video files:

I have head injuries. One mild, one not so mild. (The latter isn't helping the issues I deal with these days, let's put it that way, lol.) One of the seemingly-little-known effects OF head injuries is.... difficulty "tracking" multiple audio/video sources. Multitasking is right out. :(

In my case, I can't watch a video and hold a voice conversation at the same time. I can't watch a video and DO other things at the same time, and still keep track of the video. I *might* be able to listen to audio and do other things, but I tend to "lose focus" and have to rewind a lot. Audio + multitasking works better if the audio is me having a conversation.

Me neither.

My auditive processing problems are almost certainly an ESL thing, but I can't be entirely sure -- could be my brain, too. (The fact my sister hates, hates, hates phone calls too, and is mentally healthy, indicates that it's an ESL thing, but...anecdata).
