What is it aboutasperger that attracts the trolls? We don't even get good trolls - this is the shittiest trolling I've ever seen! Where's the drama? The entertainment? The moderators?
I've seen you mention that you're autistic, but I've also seen how intelligent you are. So I put two and two together, and was wondering if Asperger's is what you have? I know people with it are highly intelligent people, and that it's a high functioning form of autism.
I'm just curious, because I've mentioned it several times in my journal, and even bought a book about it, because my older son (Lucas) seems to show a lot of signs of Asperger's, at least in my opinion.
He hasn't even come close to being diagnosed with it, but it has been mentioned, just as a side note. Right now they're taking the bipolar approach, but they're still trying to figure out what's going on with him.
If he is ever thought to have it, I just might come to you with questions, if that's ok. I've never known anyone with it.
Well, I technically am AS, but AS != HFA. Quite a few people on asperger aren't diagnosed as AS but as autistic. Autism isn't incompatible with high intelligence. Anyway, I call myself autistic because it's an easier word to say, and I like it more anyway.
You probably do know other aspies, but not diagnosed aspies. The current theory is that AS/HFA is responsible for both the "geek/nerd" stereotype and the "absent-minded professor" stereotype. Not that all geeks are aspie, etc. etc. etc. but that it's a common enough thing.
And you can certainly ask me questions, but I'm not the expert. I'd suggest autism, but they're... a little "curebie" (and often ignorant). This isn't the time for a discourse on that subject, you'll have to wait for me to get back to you. Djusk' a.
