You can't make homemade Halloween candy. It's easy to make homemade CANDY. But it's not Halloween candy unless each piece is professionally packed in tamper-evident plastic. If you make your own caramels with wine or blackberries or other unauthorized ingredients, there's no way you can prove you didn't put in other unauthorized ingredients like heroin or cyanide.

Fair enough, though you can get around this by only giving your own candies to people who know you personally and presumably believe you wouldn't poison their babies.

But point: There are no cases of people being poisoned by Halloween candy ever.
