Trump = so much sadness. I'm glad the travel ban has been halted!

Wait, the Star Trek thing is REAL? When someone posted Raw Story talking about it, I called it a troll attempt because it's like complaining about all the carbonation in soda.

Isn't this tax also affecting the other big potential booming country in the world, Brazil? It's still a big steaming pile of corruption, but I think it's starting to get that momentum China was having, if I recall correctly... Not exactly a smart idea (but something something Republicans from Arizona).

Ha ha, I guess I do have too much idealism towards humanity.

Yeah, it'll be awhile, but people have noted it's got a lot of potential.

Oh, I would LOVE it if the power of positive thinking could pay my rent-- that would be just GREAT

I seriously don't know WHAT version of fantasyland they are living in-- oh wait, they probably have never been touched by poverty so their concept of reality is so skewed and one-sided

It bothers me when people who object to Star Trek's racial diversity are referred to as Star Trek fans. If Trek's racial diversity irks you, there's enough of it in there that it's fair to say it's Trek that irks you, and you're not really a fan of it. At the risk of No True Scotsmaning, anyone who is not down with IDIC, is not down with Trek.

you know, ben carson actually isn't 100% wrong but, obviously, he's approaching it ENTIRELY the wrong way. (because he doesn't actually care about poor people.) it's been demonstrated that poverty does impact your mind and can create a form of trauma, and it's true that if someone has lived in poverty for most of their lives and then you hand them a huge chunk of money, they're absolutely not going to handle it the same way someone who grew up with money did. poverty messes with you. but a "bad mindset" isn't what creates poverty in the first place and it's not what keeps people in poverty--that's all on us/how our society is structured.
