and she used my phone number to do it. I've gotten a lot of spammy calls and texts. When we get around to replacing her phone, I think I'll take the new one and give her my phone with the old number. Let her deal with telling the callers that she's only a kid and not interested in mortgages or car insurance!

Well, the actual people on the other line are happy to accommodate my request to be put back on a do not call list. But I don't know what to do about robocalls.

I hear there is a do not call registry. I'm not sure if it works on robocalls, though.

It doesn't cost anything to sign up, so there's no reason not to. If at some point we get the assholes out of office and the enforcement end gets some funding (which is the real problem here -- it's a good tool, but it's been made toothless by lack of money for enforcement), then you'll be in position to be helped by it.
