Photos: Copycat Sticky Note 'Subway Therapy' Walls Appear At Union Square, Atlantic Terminal (The girls and their friends were super excited to share their feelings about Trump yesterday when we happened to be at Union Square. Which reminds me, the 9/11 memorial there is getting super shabby. Somebody ought to redo the stickers.)

*stares at the TAG article* ...that is just such a mess.

I love the school district here, and the school we are in, even more now. They do identify the kids who are TAG by state law here, but they also acknowledge it's limited (it looks only at specific areas and ignores others), and while they make sure those kids' parents are connected to things - almost everything open to those kids is open to kids not identified as TAG also, and the programs span the range of interests and skill areas.

...I don't know if it's the best or right way to do it, but it's open to every kid. I'm glad for that. (Technically, the TAG students -do- get preference, but, only in their first pick - and there are way, way, way more offering seats than TAG kids across all picks. Andrew was in ... eight or ten of the programs because he wanted to be, /before/ he was identified and given the preferential pick. Which he used to get into chess club, which has no actual limit; it may be poor strategy, but as he's loving chess, it was a fair and honest choice.)
