You are such a unique window into home schooling—I must tell you I find some of this fascinating.

So, um—good luck managing exam week!

It's gonna be even more fun next year - to prepare for high school admissions, Ana's going to take the normal statewide test *and* the one we took this year (and she's going to take that one twice, to show progress). OMG NYC high school admissions are the worst. People stress less about getting their kid into college than about getting into a decent high school.

Actually, our zoned high school, contrary to all expectations, is pretty good... but we'd want her in one of the non-zoned programs if at all possible, and most of those require proof of good grades or, barring that, a rock solid portfolio and great test scores.
