To help Ana with her migraine the other day, I got her a soda

Now, we're lucky, the corner store - not our usual one, the other one - has a thriving stock of Mexican coke. So I went down there and bought some, and when I got back the girls asked why I got the coke in the fancy bottles. So I explained about sugar and corn syrup, and said the only other way to get coke with sugar is to stock up around Passover, which led into a long discussion of Passover, detailing as many of the plagues I could remember, matzoh, the fact that God is kinda a jerkass for "hardening Pharoah's heart" (and the related fact that many people, having never actually read Exodus, don't believe you if you say that happened, but I swear, it's totally in there), the whole shebang.

So, yeah. That was the day's educational moment. We also did other things.

It is actually astonishing the number of conversations I've had on this subject that run

And this is why I ended up training myself to like Coke or Pepsi, as Pepsi has a currently-thriving real sugar line. (Vanilla, cherry, and regular flavored)
