It's raining, it's drizzling....
Apr. 30th, 2014 01:54 pmI never was eligible for $50 off, but I did get a $20 off coupon for kindle in the mail today, so it looks like Eva can have one too! Good for her!
Now, my plan is, as a lagniappe birthday gift, to stock it up with a few classic faves. I know what I want, but all the same, any suggestions for newer books I might be overlooking in my haste to supply Ana with the hits of my childhood?
I'm thinking maybe something by DWJ, and So You Want To Be A Wizard, and the first Tortall book (or maybe not, maybe I should skip ahead to Daine, because that's definitely the better quartet), aaaaaaand... I don't know.
Ana has already guessed what she's getting, and I don't know how she did it! She was whining that she wanted to borrow my kindle because we can't find our hard copy of Kiki Strike, and I said fine, I'd get her a new copy for her birthday, and she said "no, you won't, you'll get me a kindle and I can read it there!" which is the truth, but how on earth did she know?
She hasn't guessed about the iTunes card, though! I have to move on that.
Eva got her a decorated egg, and checks on it twice a week. Don't know what she think will happen to it tucked neatly in my desk drawer.

It's the first time for a national Christian denomination to sue in favor of same-sex marriage, citing restricted freedom of religion. Currently ministers who marry couples without a marriage license can face misdemeanor charges punishable by up to 120 days in jail

The spread of deadly superbugs that evade even the most powerful antibiotics is no longer a prediction but is happening right now across the world, United Nations officials said on Wednesday.
Antibiotic resistance has the potential to affect anyone, of any age, in any country, the U.N.'s World Health Organisation (WHO) said in a report. It is now a major threat to public health and "the implications will be devastating".
