And yes, even if you cut out TV entirely there definitely aren't enough hours in a day to cram in all the things that are supposed to make your kid better, brighter, and much more bushy-tailed. (And don't forget the free play!)

However. With that all aside, had I known about this ten or seven years ago I would have made Jenn purchase an office chair RIGHT AWAY, and if she asked why I would've told her.

Spinning babies in office chairs increases coordination.

Why didn't I think of that? Sheesh. Also: I miss my old sit and spin. New ones suck.

Spinny chairs are wonderful! I am a big fan of That Which Spins, especially if it spins with me on it.

Speaking of which - in the "do more for your kids" category, and also in the "fun things to spin on yourself" - there is this amazing device called a Billy Board (http://www.bodymaintenance101.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/introthe_billy_boardcore_pro.pdf), which I actually saw demonstrated by its inventor about 20 years ago, and I really wish I'd bought one then, because they were a lot cheaper.

Here's more info about it (http://billyboardrevolutioncorepro.blogspot.com/), and what appears to be the current manufacturer (http://www.cottagecraftworks.com/core-balance-revolution-core-balance-board-p-1100.html). I wouldn't buy a new one, though; if I was looking to buy, I'd put out the word on Craigslist for a second-hand one - the things are extremely solidly built.

Aha - there's a much cheaper version in plastic now, the Dizzy Disc (http://www.amazon.com/Dizzy-Disc-DDJR-DIZZY-DISC/dp/B0011YJC2G).
