Ah, apparently there were two other winning tickets sold this week!

And I bet each and every one of them wishes they'd won last week instead! (But not the other two, naturally.)

It never rains, but it pours.

Sooooo the laptop fell on the floor actually right before the keyboard got busted. And I didn't realize it then, but it cracked the casing that holds the screen. The whole component will need to be replaced.

What do I call that piece? It's not the screen that's broken, the screen is 100% okay. And by carefully examining how-to videos on screen replacement, it's clear to me that attempting to replace the screen will mean I'll replace the part that's fine, and not replace the part that's broken! I think I ought to be able to fix this part, I at least want to see if this is possible, but I can't do that if I don't know what I'm looking at.
