It's happened.

I've seen people, more than one, whom I don't know, who don't know anybody whom I know use the word gigglesnort.

This, technically, proves nothing. It might mean that I didn't coin the word, or that many people have coined it at different times. I, however, like to believe that it means I've made a tangible difference in the English language.

Yes, one day, I'll be in the dictionary. Kindasorta. Is that cool or what?

So, on to the next word. I rather like umbracula, of course, but I've already mentioned that here, and I rarely have a chance to use it, as I dislike umbrellas in general. Gimme suggestions. Please.

School-type update

My Core 5.1 final went well. Tomorrow is the Core 1. I need to read the Aeneid tonight. *shudders* God, I hate Vergil. And I can still quote the expletive. Listen:

Stuck in my head, evil thing! That's not the Aeneid, though, that's the Bucolics. Wish it were the Aeneid we'd done last term, I wouldn't have to read it today. We did get through all the Bucolics except Eclogues 3 and 8....

Um. Anyway. I'm going to be busybusy this week. Cleaning. Waking up early in preparation for second summer session. That sort of thing.

Mostly saying not to blow a comic out of proportion. Now, if it's your email getting spammed with hundreds of comments, you can say this. Otherwise, I would respectfully submit that you need to stop trying to stop me having fun! Or, um, anybody else. It's better to get upset at the comics than real life because it doesn't matter what happens in the comics. And it's fun to talk about it with people, even people who rabidly disagree with you. Either you have an interesting discussion with intelligent people, or you get to spend an amusing few minutes mocking them silently and not-so-silently. Fun for the whole family! People who don't want to see it can skim over the threads, or skip them entirely. *nodnodnod*

God DAMN. More apology-related posts this week than in the past few months!

Nothing more will be posted related to the QoW fiasco, you'll be pleased to know. That's number one.

Secondly, and this is important, I have a very important request to make. You all know what I've said about when you're offended by something I've said, but it bears repeating. If I say something to offend you, please tell me what it is I said. This is very important.

There is, however, something more important. If something I said offends you, or if something about me personally manages to upset you, please, see if you can explain why. Or tell me how to say the same things I've said without being offensive. Telling me that I seem "arrogant" or "rude" (hypothetical examples) isn't very helpful unless you explain why that is. I can't modify my behaviour unless I know what it is that needs to change.

I recognize that a lot of people are unaccustomed to this sort of analysis, but for the sake of my sanity (and hopefully our friendship, if you're my friend), I ask you to please, if you're upset, be specific. And immediate. Don't wait until you're really pissed to complain. Complain earlier. Saves time.

Now. Time for the apology.

Since I seem to have actually offended somebody recently, I would like to extend my heartfelt apologies. I am truly sorry for upsetting you, and would like to make amends.
