A generic feel-good story )
I have only this to say:

The vet says he's an Egyptian Mau.

No, he's not. Firstly, it's unlikely that he would be anyway, because he's a stray. More likely he's randombred. However, it's possible that people with purebred cats lost them in the chaos.

However, there's another reason we know he's not an Egyptian Mau. Egyptian Maus are spotted. Not "tiger striped". See?

*irritated sigh*

I haven't done the research to confirm it. I do know that there is already a boycott against Nestle for unethical (and illegal) marketing techniques in regards to their baby formula.

Haiku!

A lot of people on my friends list have been posting haikus that they have written. The only trouble is that those aren't haikus. Everybody's got the 5,7,5 thing down. What most people apparently never learned in elementary school is that, when writing a haiku, you must make sure that each line is its own complete thought.

Not a Haiku

The Bill of Rights says
"No laws about religion."
...Sanctity, you said?

Do you see the first line? "The Bill of Rights Says". That line cannot stand on its own. It's not a complete thought. This is not a haiku.

Now, this is only what I was taught. Other people have been taught differently. Google shows me this. You'll notice it says nothing about complete thoughts... but it says a lot about things which most people don't include. This site specifically says run-on sentences are a Bad Thing. Both sites make clear that the 5-7-5 thing isn't a great idea for the English language.

What to do, I'm so confused. New rule:

If it's not in Japanese, it's not a haiku.
Everything in Japanese is a haiku.
Because I said so.

And no, this isn't a haiku either.

Man, I am far too tired to be typing this. Night all. And Zarriq? Djusk' a!

This one will come as a surprise to the person in question, I'm sure. One of my friends hates the color orange, and either honestly or jokingly (not sure) is scared of it. I always thought this was kinda funny, and joked on and off about it to myself.

Until today.

They uploaded the baby flotsam. An evil, icky, disgusting shade of pastel yellow.

I quite honestly flinched when I saw it, that evil, icky, disgusting color. Yellow is a good color, but pastel yellow is of the devil.

So, sorry for being a hypocrite. I'm done now.

A lot of very intelligent people commit logical fallacies every day. Some of these fallacies are more common than others, and some are quite stunningly common, even among people who are well-educated.

So, on that note, let's review the biased sample. Read more... ) You can't say that something worked for you if you're just doing better than other people who tried the same thing. You can only say it if you're doing better than people who tried something different.
