This is the most absurd thing you'll ever see:

Deadjournal!

*rolls around giggling hysterically*

The concept for it is so pointless, I have to laugh.

What season am I?

Taking this quiz proves that I am unusually concerned with my connection to the cycles of this world... or that I really, really liked the pic of winter... let's see if I get that...

Yup! My third quiz! I hope you're taking notes on which quizzes I take, when I feel you've learned enough I'll give a... um... quiz.

Go here to read it.

The only new info is this:

"The jury was told the teenager's form of autism meant he had a preoccupation with a "specialist interest" which Mr Addison said was computers. " (Addison is the prosecutor here.)

Okay, that could very well be true, it's certainly not unheard of. And it's part of the diagnostic criteria for AS, of course. But I feel a compelling need to point out that an obsession with computers does not lead one to become a malicious hacker. Actually, the only point of THAT bit of information is to explain how he learned enough to do all he did, it certainly does nothing to explain WHY he did it.

I tell you, checking the most recent posts thing on livejournal is scarily cool. I don't know WHY, most of those posts are stupid or boring, and the interesting ones are usually the ONLY interesting ones in the whole journal, but it's still cool. Unfortunately, it's not working for me right now. :( (update... it's finally working again! yay!) That's probably a good thing, as I'd gotten more quizzes than I could deal with... including the SINFEST quiz! It's pretty obvious what this says about me: I like to read sinfest. But what does THAT say about me? *shrugs* Go to the first one and work your way up to today.

Apparently he got his bite after trying to save his kitten from the tiger. No word on the kitten, so let's all go to the obvious conclusion. :(

But what scares me is this paragraph:

"Without offering any specifics, prosecutors said they are searching for a lion. Yates said he only had the tiger, the caiman and the kitten."

LION???? IN MANHATTAN?????

I can't imagine that it would be loose and not noticed for so long but....

Seriously, this guy disgusts me. He says he was serious about raising his tiger and all, whatever. If he cared about these animals, he would not have confined them to an apartment. He would not have kept a somewhat social animal like a tiger away from its own kind (I don't know about caimans at all). He wouldn't've let a kitten near a tiger. And so on.

There was ANOTHER protest there that I missed out on because I neglected to go to the bookstore today. This one was about military recruiting in high schools. Incidentally, that's illegal in most countries, since high schoolers are often under 18.

I mean, seriously, a lot of people join up because they're promised college money, or because they can't see themselves getting a job otherwise. They don't think "oh, well, I could get killed" when they do that. Yeah, it's stupid, but people do stupid things, especially in high school.

And, did you know, the military is currently blackmailing a number of law schools? Many of those schools have anti-discrimination policies that don't allow institutions which discriminate against gays on campus. Which knocks out the army, of course. So now there's been a bill passed which will deny extra funding for schools which do not allow recruiters to come on campus... because God knows it would make too much sense to let people come out of the closet in the army. Originally, the army just sued but when that fell through, they came up with this new penny-pinching plan.

Hm... This is the most incoherant thing I've said all day. Yippee!

But I don't care! Take the test again if you already have! Gimme intrigue and drama!

I re-took the AQ test again. This time I got a 44, a bit high for me, my average is around 38. *shrugs* Anyway, I was wondering, what does everyone else get on that?

NOTE: This is NOT a diagnostic tool. There is no such thing as a good or bad score. It *is* intended to show how "autistic" you are, but it is possible to score high and still be fairly neurotypical, or to even have a diagnosis for AS, HFA, or PDD-NOS and score below 32.

I was reading something, just mindless browsing, and I came across a mention of Topographical Agnosia:

"when people have trouble finding there way around places even if they know them because they are unable to recognise the features around them that tell them where they are and where to go. It is not the same as just forgetting the way to go or getting lost in a new place. There is difficulty finding your way around places that should be familiar."

What? That sounds familiar. But I could be reading much too much into that. So I go to google, of course. ALL I GET is a bunch of lists of different agnosias and some very dense technical pages. *grumbles* So I think I'm going to have to actually go to the library, if this will help. There really might not be much information on this. I *hate* that. But, until then, it's a lot better sounding than "I have no sense of direction whatsoever, and if I go down the street one way it will look completely different to me if I have to go back the other way".

You know, screw the library, I'm going to ask on the Aspergia discussion board.... SOMEONE has the answer to what, exactly, that is.
