This one is about the rationale for cheating.

The comments are the usual mix of "This wouldn't've happened in MY day" and - especially from those at Bronx Science - "This wouldn't happen at MY school". There are so many specifically from Bronx Science (often graduates of the school) that I have to ask - is there some sort of rivalry between them that Stuy kids are blissfully unaware of because there's really no competition after all?

There are also a number of commenters saying "I went to Stuy (or a similar high-pressure school) and it absolutely happened in my day" leading to the variation of "Maybe the very few people who were unhappy at Stuy think there was rampant cheating at some point in the past, but I was totally in the dark about this so it must not have been as widespread as all that!"

Honestly, I find the comments much more fascinating than the articles. It's amazing the lengths people will go to convince themselves that what must be a huge problem is instead small and isolated and that there is nothing to learn from it at all. (The only acceptable moral lesson, according to these people, is that cheaters should be blacklisted from all employment and higher education for life so the rest of us can build character and integrity.)
