Life is just too short, guys. And given some of the ways I *do* feel comfortable wasting my time, this probably says something.

But even with that mindset, I can't pass this up. Apparently, shrinking penis size is the fault of... wait for it... feminists! Or "feminazis", of course.

You know, once I had the guy pegged as a hateful cretin, I didn't think much more about him. I had no idea he actually was completely disconnected from reality. I don't know if I feel sorry for him now that I realize that or not. You can be crazy and still be an awful person, of course.

Yes, I mean totally faked. And I know for a fact that there are people of all political persuasions who'll light up a joint and listen to him for entertainment. If one gets into the right sort of zen mind-set, it's possible to appreciate the art while taking no more notice of the content than one might take of the paints used by Van Gogh: it's a medium. Good or bad? I'm disinclined to judge. Can't even say whether it's better or worse than if he's real.

Is there some kind of contest going on, for Stupidest Republican Remark? Of course Rush is always a strong contendah for Stupidest, to the point that one suspects he knows very well how stupid he sounds, and is doing it on purpose to make a shitload of money, because Stupidity Sells. One could even spin a hypothesis that Rush knows exactly how stupid he sounds, and is doing it on purpose to discredit the very people he pretends to support by portraying them as ignorant, irrational, selfish and malicious. Heh, yeah really, "Rush Limbaugh, Ninja Revolutionary!"

I doubt it, though. If he's only feigning stupidity, he's the world's greatest actor, because dang, he's got it down cold. But THIS, haha, it's just too-too! Much as it'd fit spewing from that extra anus a cruel God saw fit to place under Limbaugh's nose, it was actually Pat Robertson who described feminism as "a socialist, anti-family movement which encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." And yet, 20 years or so later, some people still think he deserves to be listened to. Maybe our species is too dumb to live.

That's the one - Pat Robertson, God's greatest gift to The Onion. Well, maybe not *the* greatest, but he's surely been right up there on the list.

I'd agree that feminism encourages women to leave their rotten husbands, practice joyful witchcraft and destroy corrupt capitalism. Don't think someone can actually 'become' a lesbian, though - as I understand it, one either is or is not a lesbian, despite any encouragement one way or the other - and as for killing their children, seems like mostly it's the fundamentalist Christian mothers who tend to do that.

Alas, 'too dumb to live' is probably right.

The parents of one of my best friends in middle school and high school were hard core, no apologies, as far right as you can get Republicans. Every time I went over there they had Rush's program on the radio. Her mom would listen to it while she cleaned, while she cooked, while she worked out, everything. This was back before he was as batshit crazy as he is now (he's always been crazy, just not as bad as now). I came to the conclusion that Rush has always kind of been building up to this point where he can say anything he wants no matter how off the wall or insane it is just to see how many people agree with him. He's probably having a good laugh over it- "look, can you believe I actually said this and people actually agreed?!?!"

Side note: you know who he reminds me of? Lewis Prothero, the crazy journalist in V for Vendetta.
