(Seriously. There was a mockingbird at my college's campus that would wolf-whistle people walking by. And it hung out by the first-year women's dorms, too. Little bastard had me spending twenty minutes thinking I had a stalker before I found it.)

At the apartment we lived in before we lived here, there was a mockingbird that came out every full moon (a few days before and after) and sat in the small tree outside our bedroom window and imitated car alarms and cellphones. Many times, Daniel would get up and stagger outside in the middle of the night to shake the tree or roar and wave his arms to make it go away. So.... I feel your pain!

I was going to suggest the same. I flicked the porch light off and on rapidly and I think it helped. Maybe a high powered flashlight, too. Also, earplugs, if you're able to wear them.

They attack in pairs. One will attack a cat's hindquarters, the other will attack its head. They're up there with the innocent-looking hummingbirds for aggressiveness.

*And* they're territorial.

I'll try the earplugs. Or maybe I'll sign him up for a dating service. He can use my computer so long as he's not downloading hot avian porn, that stuff is full of spyware.

I wouldn't really hurt a songbird, of course. Laws or no laws, they aren't singing to annoy me, and it won't really harm me.

Never let birds use your computer; it spreads viruses. He's doing just fine out there by himself, broadcasting on all sexxay mockingbird frequencies - won't be too long till some feathered young wench decides he'll do.
