Why is the inside of the middle knuckle on my left-hand pinky callused?

Because you habitually hold something there. If you're right-handed, I surmise it's because you habitually hold something that way with your left hand, while doing a more complicated task with your right.

Cheese-grater, maybe? Or the handle of a container while you whisk or stir? Keep an eye out, see what you hold that puts stress on the skin in just that place. It may be more than one thing that you hold that way. I'd be interested to know what it turns out to be!

Left-handed, that means there's even more possibilities. Comb or hairbrush? Toothbrush? Possibly your purse strap?

Rarely brush my hair, fingercomb the nieces hair, don't let the toothbrush go near my pinky, don't have a purse. It's driving me batty!
