Too much article; didn't read. However, I did get as far as "all military training seems to be geared toward invoking the darkest elements in human nature - fear, hatred, pettiness, insecurity and similar aberrations" ... well, yeah. They're training humans to kill other humans. Trust me, that doesn't involve bringing out the best in human nature.
