What do you do if you need to start a sentence with that name? Capitalize? Don't capitalize? Rephrase your sentence to avoid this problem?

I'd probably rephrase the sentence because I have no idea and wouldn't dare guessing. Both capitalising and not capitalising make sense, so I'd flunk out and put the name somewhere else!

Call him E. E. Cummings, the way he usually did himself (at least according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._E._Cummings#Name_and_capitalization)); this avoids the problem.

As far as I've ever heard, because some editors thought it was a witty reference to his weird punctuation and capitalization in his poems.
