(And apparently there are gadgets to make it at home. Who knew?)
You can put some in a cup, fill the rest with juice, and tell your kid it's soda. And they'll drink it, and ask for more! It's an effective way to water down the juice while also making it even more of a treat.
You can mix it in with milk and you've got an egg cream. If you want the kid to drink milk, and they won't, well, there you go. It's better than breaking out the chocolate syrup. (Full disclosure, I *did* break out the chocolate syrup, and the Extra Sweet Soymilk for this. But that's a treat, you know?)
You can mix it into pancake batter and you'll get mutant super fluffy pancakes. Or in Jello (if you can get over its weird nature) to make it fizzy cool.
And, of course, like baking soda, vinegar, and plain water, it can be used for umpety billion household chores.
So, now you know.

Date: 2008-12-11 10:55 pm (UTC)Pour 1 oz U-Bet and 2 oz Bailey's in an old-fashioned glass. Stir while filling with seltzer.
Of course, you can't really give that one to kids unless they're still up a couple of hours past bedtime.
