Her sister went "NO! ZAM!" a few times, but then got busy coloring and block building, so clearly, her protests weren't fully meant.

Later (after the building and coloring), Ana and I played a few rounds of Mystery Garden, which is largely 20 Questions with a game board.

Now, we all know how to play 20 Questions, right? You start off broad (is it an animal, vegetable, or mineral? is it bigger than a breadbox?), get narrower (does it lay eggs? does it have wings?), and eventually hone in on the right answer (does it breathe fire? is it a dragon?)

Here's the funny thing. When it's my turn to guess, and I'm going through the stages, Angelique will lean over and "help" me. "Connie - now you ask if it eats grass! Now you ask if it's brown! Now you ask if it gives milk! Yeah, it's a cow!" But when it's her turn, she totally forgets the concept of categorizing, and will start right off the bat with "Is it humpty dumpty? Is it a unicorn?" and so on. If I try to help her, she'll repeat my suggestions verbatim, so I have to be really careful to give actually *helpful* advice that she'll understand.

All that aside, she loved the game.

Evangeline, when she realized she was being left out (she had been playing by herself) and that we weren't giving her a turn got fairly irritated and declared it was "Kyeen-up time!" and started singing the clean-up song. I hate the clean-up song. It's such an irritating little tune, it really is. It doesn't matter how cute the child singing it, I still don't like it.

So I told her to wait until we finished our round, and then we'd clean up the game and put it away. She was happy, we were happy, we were all happy, yay.
