Firefox has started randomly doing this thing where it always has a blinky cursor on the page in the text. This is making scrolling up and down pages a real hassle, and I don't like it, and I want it to go away again. How can I do that?

Also, does anybody know why I have to manually delete my history when it's set to do so after three days? I've never bothered to ask about that, you know....

Oh wow, I totally misread your question. I thought you were asking how to do it manually in supplement to an automatic process.

You could go to Tools-->Options-->Privacy and check the box to always clear private data when you close Firefox.

I don't know for sure, but I think it thinks of a day as 24 hours. So 3 days are 72 hours. With other words, pages from 4 days back at night will sit there until you hit that 'time'.

Wow, okay. I've never noticed that myself. I have it set to clear after 1 day myself, but I never get those days on there. You might want to submit a ticket with the Firefox Devs.

I get the blinky-cursor thing when I have a text box open in another tab. I... don't know how to stop it, but that's when it usually happens to me.

Go to Options > Advanced > General > Accessibility and deselect "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages".

I see you've got the answer already, but F7 will also turn it on and off.
