I'm not sure if I'm offended even on my own behalf (I think I'd know if I were kidnapped or living a life of total social isolation) or on the behalf of people who actually have had their kids taken.

My kid has problems, it's not a fun life for everyone, but he is still alive, should be that way for a long time, and isn't going thru painful therapies and isolated because of them. I also get to see him every single day and know he is safe.

I'd take this life over cancer or kidnapping ANY day. Those two are a LOT worse. Crazy stuff, CRAZY stuff to put it like that.

I can kind of sort of see where they are going with it, though. Only because I remember the crying when Dan would come home and ask 'was Teddy here today' and the days I could do little more than shake my head no. Some parents may have that, and it is hard.

Not a lot of people understand that though, how hard it is. Especially other autistics.
