Ana: She spent the entire bus ride home on Tuesday singing Snape, Snape, Severus Snape. DUMBLEDORE! to herself. Honestly I don't know where she picks this stuff up! (I do know that I'm suddenly profoundly grateful that I never followed through on teaching her to sing the Badger Badger song. I do hope I don't have to provide a link to Badger Badger.)

Ana: Has fallen in love with soccer. She says she likes to "kick-kick-kick the ball", so we go to a free, drop-in program for four year olds on Tuesdays now. They do a number of very simple drills (run like Superman, run through the cone and kick the ball, kick the ball to your partner) and then play a game where the only really enforced rules are "Don't touch the ball with your hand" and "Don't grab the other players", so it's right at her level :)

Evangeline: Definitely knows the word "eye" now. Do you know how I know? I know because she spent some time reaching under my glasses, tapping me, and saying "eye!". I tried switching her to nose or mouth, but eye was clearly more fun. (She was very gentle and not harming me, or I would not have allowed this to continue, have no fear.)

Evangeline: Does not understand the concept of pretending to eat or drink something. So when her sister fills a cup up with water and, I'm afraid, dubious quantities of sand and tells her, carefully, to *pretend* to drink it... well, I wasn't very surprised that sand ended up going in her mouth. I had to take away the cups.

And a few other things I've learned recently:

Tumeric: Stains everything, especially when an entire container of it is spilled out on ones bed, clothes, floor, and sister.

Radishes: Have prickly leaves. When a young child asks you to hold the radish they've picked at gardening, you should absolutely not do this. Ow. Owwwwww.

Ladybugs: Come out of boxes and like to be put in leaves that have been carefully spritzed with water. Apparently.

Now I feel I can safely say I know everything :P
