Not sure what I think of it, or if I agree or not, and so on.

I find Midwesterners talk more. To me I think that New Yorkers give you your space and leave you alone.

In Virginia I was SHOCKED When someone started up small talk in the deodorant aisle of Target, my friend laughed at the look on my face.

Here people talk to me ALL THE TIME and it just always throws me for a loop. Like at the park or something. I wish I had an LJ when some of the odder conversations came out.

My daughter noticed this too.

Oh the big difference here though is it is usually personal comments. Do my kids have the same dad, do I date black men, why am I wearing black in the summer, those are some of the odd ones that have come up. Oh, I have a baseball cap from my mentor back in NYC, an NYPD memorial one from 9/11, some sort of walk in Coney Island and I kept getting asked if I was a cop. Not neutral how is the weather stuff. Personal stuff.

Also reading the comments, NO ONE EVER SPOKE TO ME IN LONDON. EVER. And I lived there two years.

Germany (a year) a little bit but London? NEVER EVER EVER.
