i like the etymology of "hysterical" with the wandering uterus and all.

daniel bought me a dictionary--a huge one-- after we'd been together about a year. because we'd be sitting around talking and go, "what does errand REALLY mean?" we were looking up words all the time. in our dictionary, an errand is "a trip to do things." THINGS? looking up words makes us happy.

I'm a great fan of dictionaries as a source of recreation. Flense! Fleer! Flatling blows! And words that don't even start with F! A lot of fun, they are.

Yes, I guess so. (http://dict.die.net/sedition/) At first I was going to contradict you – "It's telling people to commit treason, isn't it?" – but then I realized that as it was stated, it wasn't nearly that specific. Why, by a gross enough stretch of the imagination, almost any act might incite someone to perform an action, and that a truly innumerable number of actions could be perceived as resistance of lawful authority.

*blinks*

I think "The Gulag Archipelago" is having a bigger effect on me than I'd imagined....
