All I remember clearly about it was that the theology is really messed up - but religions are often like that. I was too tired when I saw it the first time. Will post my thoughts as I come to them, in the following cut:

1. My mom came in at the beginning the first time I watched this, to ask me something inconsequential. I got out a single wordless scream of agony before she left me alone.

2. Music love!

3. I also like that handwriting. Font? It looks like Colonial religious books are handwritten, anyway. Interesting. I want an icon in that handwriting....

4. EEEEE! DRUMS!

5. What sources beyond their scriptures? Who else was writing about this?

6. If everybody's left Kobol, and any return exacts a price in blood, how do the Colonials know all this? (Okay, obviously the answer is *they don't*, and expecting accuracy from religious scriptures... well, it's not a game I like to play, but I'm wondering about the truth behind the scripture at this point)

7. I love the religious talking here. Yay for a complete and total lack of tolerance?

8. Damn straight they know more about the Colonial's religion than the Colonials do. That's always the case, isn't it? I can't tell you how many times I've quoted some bit of the Bible at a prosteletyzing Christian, only to be told that "that's not really in the Bible". Gah. (And then I cite chapter and verse, to be told that they don't have to look it up, or that I really have a bad idea of the Bible if that's what I recall.)

9. When her hair is pulled back - is that the same actress? I'm not sure.

10. Adar was a moron. I don't know why, but I love that line.

11. Boomer and Helo are so cute snuggled together. So are Lee and Kara, cleaning their guns like old buddies.

12. Boomer, I love you dearly, but let me impart a lesson it took me many years to learn: Telling people they're not speaking correctly doesn't win you any friends. You're a brave, brave woman. Cylon. Gynoid. Whatever.

13. Looks like Helo's starting to get a bit freaked out by Boomer's knowledge of English and her baby - though I suspect that the "her" statement might've originally been the sort of stupid thing people always say.

14. Six finds the most brutal ways of punishing Baltar everytime she's mad at him. God, she's right, he *is* crazy, even if she's not just a product of his mind. And who wouldn't be, after the treatment he's gotten from her?

15. God, Kara and Lee are sitting there like lost little kids, aren't they? Or, rather, like little kids who are sitting going "My daddy's lost, my daddy's lost".

16. Geez, first you sob over her corpse, then you try to make *another* corpse, and all she wants, clearly, is a hug like Lee got and Kara nearly got.

17. And you ask why. So, does Boomer have the other Boomer's memories or not? Or does being corpsified not count as having memories?

18. Can't Baltar have brain scans to show he's crazy, as well as just that he doesn't have a chip in his head?

19. Helo, I agree with Kara's earlier assessment - men are idiots. SHARON. SHOT. ADAMA. AND THEN DIED. So when he sees another Sharon, how the frak is he supposed to react?

20. Cue the really awkward moment for everyone. Helo, Tyrol, me - Boomer seems oblivious.

21. Notice that neither Roslin nor Adama is really talking about rescuing the people left behind. Starbuck's the only idealistic one on that front.

22. Boomer, sweetie, your people just killed billions of billions of other people with no warning. You don't really have the moral high ground to be talking about murder here. I'm just saying.

23. Helo is still an idiot.

24. How does this Boomer know she doesn't have hidden protocols? Stuff she wasn't told about when she woke up, or whatever it is Cylons do.

25. Helo couldn't've known about this?

26. She ripped up the scriptures? And that blood is awfully red. Shouldn't it have oxidized by now, and become brownish?

27. Apollo opened the tomb - or the waiting toom, anyway. Eeee!

28. Shouldn't that air have been nasty and poisonous by the time that tomb was opened?

29. So he keeps the romantic triangle outside where they can be all paranoid and all? Well, that would be one way to solve the cylon problem - let one of her lovers shoot her in a fit of jealousy or hatred.

30. So, what got in and broke those statues?

31. HOW WERE THEY TRANSPORTED?

32. And here's where my problems start. How did the early Colonists know what the stars on Earth looked like? Did they have contact with Earth at that time? If so, why not make a better notation of the location? How is this "map" supposed to help? The stars that make up, say, Orion here look like nothing when viewed from someplace else. And with the other stars filling up the sky, you only see constellations when you look for them. Other people see different constellations. So there could be hundreds of planets that have stars that vaguely look like our constellations, if you don't look too closely. And why would the ancient tribal symbols be so frakkin' abstract? It's like they deliberately said "hey, let's use images that make sense on another planet far away, kinda, because they sort of look like what we say they are, just, in the sky."

33. What did they do, just click their heels three times to end up back home? Gee, if it's that easy, they should try doing that to get to Earth. "There's no place like Earth. There's no place like Earth. There's no place like Earth."

34. Tyrol's reaction here is interesting. He doesn't clap, he looks around, stands uncomfortably.

35. Poor Gaius. There is a man truly trapped by his world. He should've killed himself before he went nuts.

In other news, I'm still somewhat eh in the health department, so I'm home while everyone else is out shopping, eating... fighting. Probably just as well I'm home, right?
