1. There wasn't nearly enough Starbuck in this episode. That is to say, there wasn't any Starbuck in this episode.

2. Ditto for Boomer, whom I rather like, aside from the evil cylon thing.

3. Crashdown is an idiot. Not sure he deserved to die for that, though.

4. Hail to the Chief for summing up Why This Isn't A Democracy in three sentences or less. Even though Crashdown was being an idiot, and about to get them all killed.

5. I do agree with TWOP on that part, though. He was just a little *too* competent. Baby birds, sandals, he could do anything! So why was he on Galactica in the first place? Shouldn't've he been on a better ship if he's so gosh-darn capable?

6. Cally wanted to become a dentist? I'm now officially frightened.

7. Everybody on this show is so frighteningly religious. What's very interesting is that apparently, religious beliefs have some connection to where you grew up - Geminons are just assumed to all believe in the literal truth of scripture. If this was a relatively open society, and people travel from one world to another, isn't it possible that at least a few Geminons don't think that scripture is literally true? Maybe some of them are even areligious! Gasp! Horror! Even in the Bible Belt, there are a few atheists.

8. I have no real coherant thoughts other than that I want the old theme song back. I looked forward to it, and now it's all gone. Sniffle.

Oh, and I've long since been developing these tiny pinpricks of blisters on the tips of my fingers. They're hard, and they don't act like blisters until I finally get annoyed and stab them with a needle. I don't feel it unless I touch the skin outside of the blister, and water dribbles out once the blister is stabbed. I wonder if I should worry about this.

remember that the original show was very mormon.

the connection between religion and homeworld makes sense. we have that in our societies now - only less clear, so perhaps less obvious (even in the bible belt, not everyone is a brain-mashing bible-phile.) [and, well, ... something, something ... cylons.]

wait till you get some of the backstory on starbuck (who is my fav char in this series. boomer is pretty cool as well). appollo has lots of good stuff, particularly into the second series.

---

those blisters of yours - are probably linked to an allergy - or like mine, to stress. might be worth seeing a doc about them, just for the low-down.

Your description of the blisters leaking fluid once stabbed reminds me of my own periodic (though thankfully minor) skin condition pompholyx (http://dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/pompholyx.html). Triggered by stress, looks like little bubbles beneath the skin, often itchy and only spreads once the little bubbles have been burst. Fortunately mine's so minor that I never needed to see a dermatologist: I just only have to refrain from bursting the bubbles for the complaint eventually to give up and go away.

Do you suffer from asthma, ezcema or hay fever? The three are interlinked and proneness to one or more of these might make you prone to pompholyx.

Ah, bingo! It's not the asthma link but the nickel link.

As I say, my own case is minor: I once managed to scratch half of my left palm into a red scaly scabbed mess, which prompted my Dad to start calling me "Rameses III", but now that's completely cleared up. Your case may be minor (I hope so!) and I recommend you go to the doctor only if these basic precautions don't deal with it:

- Cover up the bubbles with plasters
- Resist urge to peel off plasters
- Scratch over the plasters if it ever feels itchy
- Use lots of handcream whenever convenient
- Try not to think about it or examine your hands too much

If it still persists to the point of being bothersome, definitely see the doctor as you may require antibiotics. Very good luck!

Love Boomer. Like Starbuck a lot. Hate the new haircut though.

TWOP? Huh? Sorry, no coffee yet today. But I had the feeling that Galactica was the figurehead of the (old) fleet. Or IOW there wasn't a better ship.

I think Cally would have been a good dentist. Perhaps a pediatric dentist. I could see that.

Glad someone else agrees with me and [livejournal.com profile] mmaestro about the theme music. Apparently it was changed due to popular demand. His theory is that the demand came from people in the US who downloaded the show off the Internet when it came out in Britain, since it came out there way before here (you did know it's the British theme music, right?). Then when it finally came out here, they got upset because it wasn't what they were used to.

Right. But I thought that all the ships that they're using were the old fleet that was about to be decommissioned (one M or two?) and the Galactica was the flagship of that fleet. Well, the old battleships and some commercial ships, I mean—my point was that there aren't any of the *new* battleships now, are there? And it was a big deal that they were decommissioning Galactica, so of course all the big shots were aboard.

Not being someone who watches and re-watches every episode, nor someone with a good memory for insanely detailed plots, I could very well be mistaken.
