Can one say that? *thinks on this*

You can say "much better", and you can say "way better" (I wouldn't, but I'm fairly confident that I've heard that), but... way much better?

Hm. And you can say very much, but can you say very much better?

*shrugs* Well, clearly you can. I just never heard it before.

And no, this wasn't just an excuse to use my Sejanus icon.

I haven't heard that particular word combination before either. I don't think it's grammatically correct, but after listening to the History of English lectures (if you're interested in hearing a Stanford prof go on for 18 hours and have a high-speed connection, let me know, I'll zip it for you & you can IM me for it), I'm hestiant to make any sweeping declarations. Double negatives were acceptable until fairly recently ("fairly recently" being two or three hundred years ago) and in Middle English, "ask" really was "aks". These tidbits frightented me greatly.

Grammatically correct, in this context, is a nonsensical statement. In English, "cat dog ate" is not grammatical. However, dialectical variation and language change is a natural part of language, and, as such, is neither "incorrect" nor "frightening".
