1. If I had a baseball bat, we could hang you from the ceiling and play piñata.

A piñata, huh? So, you think of me as something bright and cheerful full of toys and candy for young children.

(I like the latter part by itself as well, of course.)

2. I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I'd look up at your lifeless eyes and wave like this. Can you and your associates arrange it for me, Mr. Morden?

3. I'm going to take a vow of silence concerning this entire conversation. Good day.

4. Gods by the bushel! Gods by the pound! Gods for all occasions!

5. By G'Quan, I can't recall the last time I was in a fight like that. No moral ambiguity, no .. hopeless battle against ancient and overwhelming forces. They were the bad guys, as you say, we were the good guys. And they made a very satisfying thump when they hit the floor.

6. Zog? What do you mean zog? Zog what? Zog yes, zog no?

7. I'm shocked. Shocked and dismayed. I'd remind you that we are short on supplies here. We can't afford to take perfectly good clothing and throw it out into space. Always take the jacket off first, I've told you that before. Sorry, she meant to say: 'Stripped naked and thrown out an airlock.' I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

(I know this is really too long to icon, but I had to include it for completeness' sake.)

8. To me everything is a surprise. You're a surprise, this place is a surprise. You see this? Paper-cut, hurts like hell. Anybody else would be upset, but to me it's just one more wonderful surprise. I mean, I even surprise myself sometimes. Now, I guess there's nothing wrong me surprising you? Right?

9. The entirity of the fasten-zip conversation.

10. Very sad life. Probably have very sad death. But at least there is symmetry.

11. Being a freedom fighter, a force for good, its a wonderful thing...you get to make your own hours, looks good on a resume, but the pay...sucks.

12. So much has been lost, so much forgotten. So much pain, so much blood. And for what, I wonder. The past tempts us, the present confuses us, and the future frightens us. And our lives slip away, moment by moment, lost in that vast terrible inbetween. But there is still time to seize that one last fragile moment. To choose something better, to make a difference, as you say.

(Another quote that's far too long)

13. I don't want to get killed because of a typo. It would be embarrassing.

14. Wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?

Taking a break now.

The thing about iconning quotes if you haven't seen the show or read the book that they come from is that it is difficult to pick a font because you don't have the context to provide tone. Like the "zog" quote. It's good, short, would fit nicely.. but I don't know what sort of font I'd use because I have not and will not ever see this show. So if it's not obvious already from the quote itself, you should maybe include notes on the tone of the quote. Should the font be silly? Cute? Serious? Blocky? Threatening? Script? Curly? Elegant? Antique? It's a very important question. Especially for me, posseser of several thousand fonts.

Well, I would probably watch it to save my life or the life of my cat or even a fish or something. But I don't really watch TV when it is actually on, and I don't believe in renting TV shows on DVD. I only ever watch movies at all when I'm doing it with other people because I am simply not motivated enough to do it by myself.

Do you want these to be pure text, or can they have images in them if it's appropriate?

Oh yeah, this is [livejournal.com profile] chaos_by_design's alternate journal, btw.
