Or about detainees, or terrorism, or patriotism. This isn't even about hypocrisy - though I believe I've seen the Red Cross quoted on oppressive regimes when it suited the interests of the Powers that Be. This is entirely about certain parties trying to use money and influence to force others to keep silent on important matters. They're not even trying to be subtle about it!

*sighs*

I want. out. of. this. world. I want to go someplace where stupid things like this don't happen.

My thanks for your many link-postings, even though I usually can't bear to read them all. I share your angst; what can we *effectively* do to change things? I don't know, or I'd be doing it.

best,

Joel

Try to pretend it's not all real.

That's a problem for me; it *is* real, and I value my perceptions.

I've *met* my Senator, and if senile, corrupt old Frank Lautenburg is as his performance suggests the second-most-honorable senator after Barb Boxer, I can only hope that some terrorist gets at least 99 of them tomorrow.

Thanks again for your efforts; I do have some ideas, which I'll post when I can.

best,

Joel

Funny... and I'm not too pleased with Sen Boxer atm. She may be the best option I have, but I'm not pleased with her. On the other hand, so far I like Representative Barbara Lee.

The only escape, unfortunately, is helping make the world a better place where things like this don't happen. A new constitution would probably be a good start.

Temporary solution at best.

Can I come?
