Date: 2005-05-13 05:12 am (UTC)This would be great maybe ten years down the line, but having something like this happen now when the issue is in the forefront of the public mind can only result in people fighting it even harder against it. Something like this at the wrong time (and this may very well be the wrong time) may result in people pushing for an ammendment.
I'm not gay, nor do I ever really see myself getting married, but I want the freedom to change my mind on either of these issues at the slightest whim and I will be very bitter if this right it taken away from me.

Date: 2005-05-13 11:25 am (UTC)I saw this post and my first reaction was "Woohoo! This is great! I need to post a comment about how great this is!" but the other two comments seemed to be generally in favor of it, and one of the things I simply cannot force myself to do is anything that might even remotely be considered as adhering to group mentality. The thought of being like everyone else terrifies me. I had to find a way to approach the subject from a different direction.
Sorry it was so pessimistic.
