Most of the larger brands are subsidiaries of major food companies -- General Mills, Nestle, etc. The pet division is used as a method of getting rid of the byproducts produced in engineering the human products while still making money, that they'd otherwise have to pay to dump somewhere.

Date: 2005-04-07 11:36 am (UTC)My sister recently commented about how: name a location, and I've breastfed there. Zoo, yup. Eiffel tower, yup. etc. She's traveled a lot and has two kids, so she's ended up breastfeeding them almost everywhere.
Breastfeeding is also incredibly commonly depicted in art. Because there are countless madonna with child or other religious figures as babies breastfeeding in countless works of art. Baby and child is one of the most common themes. Probably because it's also such a huge part of life.
