Yep... Most of the larger brands are subsidiaries of major food companies -- General Mills, Nestle, etc. The pet division is used as a method of getting rid of the byproducts produced in engineering the human products while still making money, that they'd otherwise have to pay to dump somewhere.

I guess if I'd thought about it I would've realized it was a subsidiary of *something*, but I didn't realize it was Nestle.
