The US was the lone vote against allowing greater access to cheaper, generic drugs against AIDS

Of course, UN resolutions don't generally mean anything, do they? All the same, though, it's still sick. The pharmeceutical companies should not have their profits protected over the health of the very ill and/or poor.

That is outrageous, but I'm not surprised at the USA's behavior. I too can go on a rant against capitalism from time to time. It's all about exploiting the citizenry for money; there is no concern for humanity. This kind of stuff disgusts me so, that my frequent motto is "Kill the economy", and I generally vote with my wallet by keeping it closed. I consider health care a basic human entitlement, and the level of intentional deprivation of the poor in the USA is barbaric.

As long as people keep spending money excessively, it is taken to mean that times are good. When there is less discretionary spending, the government is forced to make more provisions for its people.
