While I appreciate the sentiment, I am from the Deep South, and I see too much evidence to the contrary in my immediate surroundings. My own father's a Southern Baptist. Women are seen and not heard. *greenface* The only way Christianity might get me back is to tell these sort of people to pack it in. Until they do that, I know it's not the religion for me.

Maybe modify that to say that "her statement in NO WAY represents the view of all Christianity."
I have met some decent real Christian people, rare creatures though they are in this day and age. That tends to be the problem with established religion. It draws the majority of the lazy sheep and "Christ-using opportunists" type. Basically people who are horribly selfish and self righteous or people who don't want to think. And in the mix you don't get to meet as many of the people who live up to the Christian ideals. Which in the original ideas are pretty good. I have been lately introduced to the idea of reading the Gnostic gospels. Methinks when I have the time and the money I will check them out.
