See, people like her? I don't count them as 'Christians'. I think the term is 'Christ-using opportunists'. They use the religion and the book in bits and pieces to support themselves and toss out the parts that don't support themselves.

Of course, this brings to mind the old saying about the Devil being able to quote scripture for his own purposes...

In the interests of disclosure, I dropped out of Christianity at the age of 5 when my grandfather was killed in a car accident and I was told 'it was God's will', and decided that God and I didn't need to deal with each other.

I'm with you on that and I will probably start using the term "Christ-using opportunists." Bitches and their selective memories and reading.

My family is in a rather liberal diocise of the Episcopal Church so I've never felt the need to run from it and am still on good terms with the church they go to. But somehow I've still ended up a pagan. :)
