Some guy who deserted from the Army wants to get refugee status in Canada.

He joined up, of course, for education benefits.

I don't think he'll be successful. It's not like we're under a draft. He voluntarily chose to go into the Army, and it's his own bad luck that there happened to be a chance that he could get killed that way.

I don't argue. However, judging by the clip his reason for leaving was "well, I can't kill people, I just signed up for the money", and I don't think that argument is going to go over very well.

One should bear in mind the possibilty of killing or being killed when one joins the military, this is true. I couldn't view the clip when I first saw this entry, but I see what your're saying.

I just object to our soldiers being used as Bush's little Risk pieces, and so I can't blame the guy for not wanting to go.
