I used to get nosebleeds, um, a lot. Something like once a month during the day, and more at night when I was asleep (I'd find out about it when I went to pick blow my nose and find dried blood). Years of this. Even when they stopped during the day, I was still getting them at night for a while.

Haven't really thought about this in ages, it's been so long since I've had one - I think I had a nighttime one a year and a half ago (and it'd been a long time since the previous nosebleed) and I can't even remember the last one I had in the day.

Had a nosebleed today. Just out of nowhere as I'm on the boat.

So, from the time we were about to pass the Statue of Liberty until the time Latin was very nearly over, my nose was bleeding. If I thought it'd stopped, I'd take my hand away and the blood would gush out again.

It was *still* trickling halfway through my sociolinguistics, and I'm not to sure it's completely dried up even now.

On another note, we finally finished with Eloise and Abelard in Latin. First we did his side of it (Hah! You think you have problems? Lemme tell you mine! You know how I got around, well, there was one girl who was better than the rest - nah, I didn't quite love her, but we fucked around a bit. And she got pregnant. Well, I did the right thing by her, sorta, and shunted her off into a convent, but can you believe her granddad was still mad? Yeah, and now I'm Mr. Eunich) and today we read her side (OMG! I love you so much! And I'm even sacrificing MY life for YOUR wonderful, fabulous, terrific excellence, really, and you know it's better that I don't marry you, but I love you, that's why I didn't marry you. Because you're, like, soooooo coooooool). Aaron had the idea that Eloise's undying (and rather pathological) love for Abelard was a good thing. "So, he did well for himself, didn't he?"

Yeah, if you think being remembered for having been castrated is "doing well for himself".

*dramatic eyeroll*

Have you seen Being John Malkovich? There's a terrific puppet show about Abelard and Heloise. It's terrific. John Cusack gets the crap beaten out of him for it. :)

Oh, it's worth it for many things. An excellent, although thoroughly bizarre, film.

That is really awesome, though I don't like Abelard and Heloise too much. (but I don't like Romeo and Juliet neither, so maybe I'm just weird).

My sister, [livejournal.com profile] zellita used to get nosebleeds that often when she was a kid. When she broke her nose, she didn't know it, because she just figured it was another nosebleed.

temember to apply pressure ABOVE the nasil cartldge or you can cause damage. Also apply pressure only on the bleeding side.
I get em all the time and have done so since I was 4. 23 years of bleedign nostrils gives yu an insite oh now to stop em.

edited to deal with panic attack spelling. Now if anyone has a good remedy for panic attacks let me know ok?

I had nosebleeds pretty often myself when I was a child, so my mom took me to a doctor who "burned" (that's not the word I want, it was more medical) the blood vessels at the Locus Kiesselbachi inside the nose. It helped.

Ack! Nose bleeds >.< Did you ever get it checked out? I know nothing about it, but maybe there's a cause and you can avoid it somehow...

Have you tried putting a cold, wet tissue on the back of your neck? That's what my mother always told me to do, and it seemed to help.

Not that I ever had a lot of real nosebleeds. I lose a drop of blood or two every now and then, but that hardly counts.
