They don't stay still. I mean, I buy a pair of jeans, and when I buy them, they barely fit. They're too tight. Then, after I've worn them once, now all of a sudden they're too loose. They want the world to see my undies.

Betrayers.

*sighs*

I'll just have to ask my mom to take these in. This is insane. WHY do they DO this?

Could it be that you're buying a brand/style that doesn't match your build? Or that you're buying the sort that isn't "pre-relaxed" so you're getting a very different size after they're washed/worn from in the store?

For example, I can only fit properly in Levi jeans, and I can't really wear Lee jeans. Levi makes theirs (at least, the kind I get) for women with relatively long legs that carry weight in the thigh, while Lee makes theirs for women that are short-legged, long-waisted that carry weight in the butt.

Jeans that are "pre-shrunk" won't do the shrink/expand thing you're talking about, I think. I know that the "relaxed fit" style (or is it "relaxed riders"?) is as loose in the store as it will be when you've worn them a hundred times -- but then again, if you don't like having loose/semi-loose/relaxed (not baggy) jeans, it's somewhat of a moot point. *chuckle*

"I mean, for all the time I could spend finding a better fit of jeans, I could *also* be reading a book."

That I certainly can relate to... I have, right now, *one* pair of jeans that I can wear in public, which is problematic as that's the only legwear I'm willing to wear outside the house. I know I really should get more of them, especially as these ones are getting pretty worn out, but I heard that Levi changed how they size things *and* changed the cut, and I *really* don't want to go spend time trying on clothes. I hate doing that...bleah!

Also I admit that part of me really wants to just wait for me to lose weight so I can wear my smaller pants. I don't want to get more pairs in this size and possibly reinforce my ability to *stay* this size! (I don't care how I look in that sense, but the tactile sensations I get from being overweight can push me from "stressed" into "meltdown" on a bad day!)
