There's an alarm on my mother's phone that goes off every day at 7pm

It sounds like a ghost. She set it that way so she'd never ever ever miss an episode of Jeopardy, even over the summer when it's reruns.

I didn't realize, but the new season started Monday. Now we know why Mommy clung on so long - she didn't want to miss the new episode!

I pretty much never watch Jeopardy unless I'm watching with her. I don't quite believe in ghosts, but if there are ghosts then she is one so she won't miss Jeopardy, and that means she's haunting somebody else right now.

I must remedy this situation immediately.

My mom passed away almost 30 years ago, but I used to watch Jeopardy with her, and make silly wagers on the Final Jeopardy question.

If everybody who wants to hang out with Trebek is actually hanging out with Trebek then it must be like Woodstock up there. Maybe they issue tickets.

Well, you figure some of them want to hang out with Alex, and they also want to hang out with John Lennon or David Bowie, so crowds ebb and flow.
