*winces in pain*
Sep. 13th, 2004 08:15 amI've got a wisdom tooth coming in. Fortunately, it's coming in right where I had an adult tooth removed when I was ten. Unfortunately, those four teeth were removed because my jaw was too small to accomodate them. Also unfortunately, it HURTS. A LOT. Now I understand why babies scream, because teething is really, really, really painful, especially when you're trying to sleep.
So, guess who's 1. buying some oragel, stat and 2. going to the dentist? Hm. Haven't been to the dentist in a while, so I guess this is a blessing in disguise. Maybe.

Date: 2004-09-13 09:02 am (UTC)I don't know if it's medically sound or would help you, but I found that applying direct pressure helped reduce the pain for me, contrarily. Something soft but firm in the back of your jaw, bitten down on firmly (but not too hard, your jaw muscles will start to hurt), and the pain dimishes substantially after a few minutes. You're probably better off with Orajel, though (or heck, skip the kid stuff and go straight to the Novocain)
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon :/
