*winces in pain*

I've got a wisdom tooth coming in. Fortunately, it's coming in right where I had an adult tooth removed when I was ten. Unfortunately, those four teeth were removed because my jaw was too small to accomodate them. Also unfortunately, it HURTS. A LOT. Now I understand why babies scream, because teething is really, really, really painful, especially when you're trying to sleep.

So, guess who's 1. buying some oragel, stat and 2. going to the dentist? Hm. Haven't been to the dentist in a while, so I guess this is a blessing in disguise. Maybe.

I don't know if it helps you but chewing on cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) or getting clove-oil helps against the pain.

Death or Rats! He was so dang cute in the "Soul Music" animated flick.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth, pray for some Halcion (http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1040847).

Oh man, that sucks :( You're right, one wonders how babies deal with that 24 times. The four of mine came in a few years ago, and they still twinge from time to time as they grow a little bit more. I'm not having them removed, though, I need all the wisdom I can get :P (and it'd cost an arm and a leg but eh)

I don't know if it's medically sound or would help you, but I found that applying direct pressure helped reduce the pain for me, contrarily. Something soft but firm in the back of your jaw, bitten down on firmly (but not too hard, your jaw muscles will start to hurt), and the pain dimishes substantially after a few minutes. You're probably better off with Orajel, though (or heck, skip the kid stuff and go straight to the Novocain)

Good luck, I hope you feel better soon :/
