[Poll #347379]

1. You can pick more than one answer for most of those questions
2. Okay, smarty-pants, what IS the point of having your poll viewable to "none"?

Adding on to what [livejournal.com profile] tsukikage85 and [livejournal.com profile] velvetchamber said, making results of polls viewable to none could be useful if the poll asked extremely personal questions that someone might not want available to any odd user who might just chance upon the entry and feel like reading the results.

Another situation it would be useful: think about how we're voting for and nominating mods on NC. We're sending all of our votes and nominations to Jazzy through PM so people don't get ruffled feathers over who votes for who. If we had decided to use the LJ community for this, we could set up a poll with results viewable to none asking questions such as "In the list below, who would you vote/not vote for to become a mod?" to get the same effect.

Finally, trivia communities like [livejournal.com profile] disney_trivia could use it when posting trivia questions. If the maintainers ask the question in the form of a poll with results viewable to none, users won't be able to cheat and look at answers in the poll results.
