A study found something that suggests dextromethorphan cough suppressant can worsen COVID-19.

Not to worry - dextrometrorphan, for cough suppression, works about as well as a placebo. You're better off with honey.

I'm understanding that it is, for those it works for, more a mucus thinner.

Did they ever specify if aspirin is fine, counter indicated or anything? Everything I heard was from the more Modern pharmacology.

Aspirin may or may not be fine - last I heard (via TWiV, anyway) there are points in the progress of the disease where blood thinners are bad, and points where they are good. I wouldn't worry unless you're already showing symptoms.

Yeah, I'm figuring that I'm only asymptomatic if it's considering the lives of others and Not Affected when I'm a contained system. It's this cat in a box question of wondering if there is a physicist in the room that brings it up.

I'm just old enough that I remember when not all fevers could be treated the same and the word had to spread by soap opera.

that's odd, I've used that cough medicine and it worked fine for me (I have not been coughing at all recently though)

Cough syrups that come with DM usually also have something I can't have.

I've gone to straight up Mucinex - I've found I cough less when there's less dripping crap down the back of my throat. (Upper respiratory things being what they often are with me.)
