If you get paywalled, I find that their paywall is easily bypassed by refreshing and then hitting esc right as the text loads. Or you can clear your cookies or open it in a new browser window - the WaPo paywall is a joke, is what I'm saying.

I've been feeding Bezos a dollar at a time off a prepaid credit card with very little balance left on it; that usually lasts over a month. Then it tries to push through the full subscription price which is declined, and we repeat. Less convenient than the cookie cutting, and it gives me some slight relief from the guilt involved in not giving a trillionaire his full share.

The only effective paywall I've found is WSJ's. They won't even take a prepaid card in payment if the expiry date is too far out.

You can sometimes still circumvent WSJ's paywall by using the old "google the article title" trick. I have no idea why that occasionally still works.
